We all have expressed our concerns regarding the proposed 7-11 at 875 Willis Avenue, Albertson. Formerly known as “Mitch and Toni’s American Bistro.” The proposal went before the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) for a determination on what variances would be granted. Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Peter Zuckerman publicly stated our opposition to a 24-hour 7-11. Our hard work has paid off and our community will be much better off without this type of establishment changing the dynamics of our small hamlet. Edward Scott and other members of the Executive Board have spent an enormous amount of time fighting to keep our community modest and traditional. 711 in Albertson would have been a terrible mistake. Too much negative activity surrounds a typical 711 and we thank all involved in the fight to keep our small hamlet from being just another neighborhood adversely affected by corporate influence. Thank you Eddie, the Executive Board and a special thanks to Judy Bosworth and Peter Zuckerman who continued representing us all the way till the end.
